Why I Tattoo Only One Client a Day — and Two per Week

Tattooing is the center of my artistic life, but the way I work is different from most tattoo artists in New York. I only tattoo one client a day and a maximum of two clients a week, and the reason is simple: this process allows me to be 100% there, without burning out, hurrying up or getting destructed.
I never prepare designs in advance. My entire tattoo process is built on meeting the client, understanding their story, and photoshop-sketching together on the day of the session. This collaboration is the most important part of the day and I can never know how much time it will take. Some sketches take 30 minutes. Others take three or four hours of trying, adjusting, and refining. I never settle for “good enough,” even if the client says "ok i guess this one is fins", no! it has to be perfect!

One Client a Day Means Zero Time Pressure. If I booked more than one tattoo in a day, I would be forced to limit the collaboration time. I refuse to do that. A creative process shouldn’t be rushed, and I want every client to feel like the entire day is dedicated to them. This approach leads to stronger, more personal artwork—and a calmer, more enjoyable tattoo experience.
But Why I Tattoo Only Two Clients a Week?
Working with so much emotional and physical intensity has limits, and respecting those limits makes me work better.

Tattooing is hard on the body. Doing this every single day would eventually burn me out. Keeping a slow, intentional schedule lets me show up at 100% for every piece.
I get deeply involved in my clients’ stories. It’s common that we laugh, cry, and stay in touch long after the session. I often become friends with the people I tattoo. This level of emotional energy is meaningful—but impossible to maintain daily.
So, you see, Limiting my schedule isn’t a luxury—it’s the foundation of the work.
I ask chatgpt to make a list of advantages so here they are:
"fully customized tattoos
deep creative collaboration
designs that don’t feel rushed
space for emotional connection
energy, clarity, and focus
a long, sustainable artistic career
This method creates stronger tattoos and a healthier, more human process—for me and for the people who trust me with their stories.
If you want to experience this kind of full-day, collaborative tattoo session in New York, you can learn more about my process and availability on my website."
If you ask me , it just felt like the right thing to do.
