I am Shani,
When I’m asked when I started making art I like to answer "all children do, when did you stop?" My art is defiantly a side effect of just living the best life I can wish to myself. I am tattooing because I like meeting new people and making them happy. I am painting so I can create exhibitions and events that will bring people closer. My life is build with games , challenges and experiments that eventually bring some kind of art to life.
Biography
Shani Nizan is a New York–based visual artist and tattoo artist working primarily with illustration. Her practice moves between tattooing, drawing, and exhibition-based projects, often focusing on animals, human–animal hybrids, and moments taken from daily life. She is interested in simplicity of form, clarity of action, and the emotional space created through repetition and observation.
Alongside her tattoo practice, Nizan presents her work in galleries and alternative spaces and develops long-term projects rooted in routine and community. Her work favors action over explanation and experience over symbolism, aiming to create moments of connection — between people, images, and the spaces they share
